A crown is basically a custom porcelain helmet for your tooth. This is an extremely reliable treatment for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. While most insurance plans will cover a new crown after 5 years of wear, we design our crowns to last for years and years.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FIT A DENTAL CROWN?
Most of our porcelain crowns at Highland Dental Center are created, designed, and cemented into place the same day. First we numb your tooth. Then Dr. Erny will remove the decay or crack and shape your tooth to accommodate the porcelain “helmet” or crown restoration. If you elect our same day crown procedure, the appointment will take about 75 minutes, and you will leave your appointment with a beautiful, natural looking porcelain crown.
